Vila Nova i la Geltrú 🌞
is located directly on the coast of Catalonia between Barcelona and Tarragona. Since October 31st 👻, we’ve been exploring Vila Nova i la Geltrú and feel right at home here 🐩😊 Geographically, Vila Nova i la Geltrú is super central 🎯. Sitges and Castelldefels, for example, are just a stone’s throw away.
The great beaches are a paradise for sun worshippers 😎 and beach volleyball 🏀 fans. In the small but fine market hall 🏢 in the middle of the old town, you can get everything a gourmet heart desires 🐟🐙🦀🦐🐚🍑🍏🌶️. From fresh fish and seafood to crisp, colorful fruits and vegetables, no wish goes unfulfilled there 🤤
In the heart of the city, live music 🪕🥁🎷 resonates from the bars and cafés. With a glass of red wine 🍷 and delicious tapas, it’s very easy to relax there 😃. At any time of day ☀️🌛, Vila Nova i la Geltrú is a lively town with narrow streets and historic squares waiting to be discovered.
What we particularly like is the palm-lined 🌴🌴🌴🌴 promenade that you can stroll along to the harbor ⛵🚤🛥️.
In the evenings, locals and tourists gather at the marina to admire the sunsets 🌅 and end the day with a glass of cava 🥂
Vila Nova i la Geltrú is a place where tradition and modernity harmoniously blend, and the Mediterranean life is enjoyed to the fullest 😊
Castelldefels:
Dreamily beautiful and very long beaches 🏖️. Here, fine golden sand stretches over several kilometers along the glittering Mediterranean. The gentle waves 🌊🌊 invite you to relax and swim 🤿, while the warm sun 🌞 tickles your skin. It’s the perfect beach to build sandcastles or dig in the sand until the doctor comes 😷🧑⚕️. Right along the promenade, there’s a buzz of fantastic beach bars 😄. In one of these beach bars, I had the very best cheesecake 🍰. It was devoured so quickly that it didn’t make it into a photo 🍰😇.
In the evening, it’s always a pleasure to watch the 🌞 sun sink into the sea 😃.
Castelldefels offers not only a beach but also a rich atmosphere and an experience that indulges both heart and senses. 😊 Many years ago, we spent a long weekend in Castelldefels and we would do it again 😅
After an evening visit with the doodle girl to the vet in the neighboring town, this incredibly beautiful sky appeared ❤🧡💛🤎💙🖤
Sitges is truly a charming place! We have recently fallen in love with Sitges ❤ The town, located about 35 km southwest of Barcelona, is known for its beautiful beaches, its charming old town, and its lively cultural life. Here, the motto “viva la vida” can truly be felt. 💞
Sitges offers 17 beautiful beaches 🏖️, including both quiet, secluded coves and lively beaches with bars and restaurants. The sand is fine and the water crystal clear – perfect for wonderful days by the sea. The old town of Sitges is my personal highlight 🎉. Pretty houses decorated with colorful flowers 🌺🌸💐 and many small boutiques offering plenty of beautiful things 🕶️👜🩰💍. There are many cozy cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy local specialties.
In addition, Sitges is a paradise for art lovers. The Cau Ferrat Museum and the Maricel Museum are just two of the many museums the town has to offer. Sitges is also known for its film festival.
Throughout the year 📆, there are numerous festivals and musical events in Sitges.
The combination of historical charm and modern lifestyle makes Sitges a unique place. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the town makes visitors feel right at home.
Overall, Sitges is a place that impresses with its beauty and vibrancy. It is a perfect travel destination for those who love art, culture, good food, and dreamlike beaches 💌
Tarragona is known for its impressive Roman history. Additionally, Tarragona is famous for its traditional delicious Romesco sauce, which is made from a mixture of nuts 🥜🌰, almonds, peppers 🫑🫑, garlic 🧄, tomatoes 🍅🍅, vinegar, and high-quality oil. It is often served with fish 🐟🐠🐡, seafood 🦀🦐🦞🦑, vegetables 🥕🥦🌽, and meat 🥩🍗🍖. So basically, this tasty sauce is served with everything except cake 🎂🍰😅
But of course, Tarragona has more to offer than just Roman history and a delicious sauce 😉. A vacation in Tarragona can be a perfect mix of history, culture, nature, and good cuisine. We found Tarragona only moderately beautiful and limited our visit to a day trip.
