Arcachon 🏜

Since autumn 🍃🍂 2020, when we were robbed by malicious people 🧟‍♂🧌 near Bordeaux on our way to Portugal, France had fallen far down ⬇ our list 📝 of favorite holiday destinations – below even Absurdistan 😅

But after five years, the time had come, and France was given a second chance 😝
A visit to Arcachon, with its culinary delights 🦪🍮🍾 and breathtaking natural beauty 🏜🌊 was meant to offer a fresh perspective.

One of the highlights was undoubtedly the Dune du Pilat 🏜 the largest shifting sand dune in Europe. Standing atop the over 100-meter-high 🔝 dune was an unforgettable moment. The effort of climbing the steep, sandy path was doubly rewarded with a stunning view 👀 of the Atlantic Ocean 🌊

Another highlight was the French market halls 🦪🥟🍤🐍🐢🦀🦞🐡 and fresh counters in the supermarkets. The sight of all the delicacies could easily tempt one to fill the shopping cart to the brim – so much so that at the checkout, you might think you’ve just bought a small car 💸💸💸💸

It’s no surprise that the Arcachon region is famous for its oyster farming 🦪🦪 attracting gourmets from around the world 🚁✈ Luckily 🍀 neither of us like oysters.

In the end, we were able to make peace with France again.
