After a short but intense time in Braunschweig, filled with reunions with family and friends, the next adventure now begins 🚐🏕
For four weeks, plans were made 💻☎, routes researched 🔎, and preparations carried out – now the journey 🚐 can finally begin!
Traveling by camper van as modern-day nomads, the first leg takes us through the Netherlands 🧀⚘ where a short pause is planned before continuing on to Belgium 🍫🍻. In Antwerp, we’ll take the opportunity to explore the city, admire its stunning architecture 🕍, and of course, enjoy some classic Belgian beer 🍻. On day 3, we head onward to Calais, where the ferry across the English Channel 🏞 awaits to take us to England 🇬🇧
The excitement 🤗 is building: London with its vibrant streets 🛣, historic landmarks 🏰⛪, and hidden corners is waiting to be discovered once again. After London, the vast landscapes 🌁🌅 of Cornwall call, with its rugged coastlines 🌊🌪🌫🌬, charming little towns, and breathtaking beaches 🏖 🏜 🏝. Naturally, Fish 🐟 and Chips 🥔 are a must – a culinary classic that simply has to be tried on British soil! Yet even more thrilling than the planned destinations are the unexpected encounters, the spontaneous stops, and the small adventures along the way that make every journey truly unforgettable.

You might have wondered if we’re still alive 💕 The short answer: Yes ✅ The long one: We’re living, loving 💕 eating 🍽 drinking 🧃 sleeping 🛌🏻 planning 🌏 📍 driving 🚐 chasing Wi-Fi 🛰 and repeating the whole thing in an endless loop 🔄 😅 But above all, we’re enjoying life ☺️
Our travel blog? Well, it’s been buried somewhere between our sandy clothes 👚 👙 🩳 🩴 👝 👒, a half-filled notebook 📓 📑, and a never-ending to-do list 📃 🖍 that we’ve been dragging around for quite some time.
The Internet? Most days, it’s about as reliable as a wet 💧 matchstick. And whenever we do have a signal, Netflix 🖥 often beats “WordPress” (our travel blog platform). Sorry 🙈
But no worries 🤭 – we haven’t given up. Someday (maybe when it rains 🌧️ and the Wi-Fi holds steady) 🔌 🔋 💻 things will pick up again. With stories, photos 📷 and all the little adventures we’ve been collecting.

4 months of vagabond happiness! 😄
For the past 4 months, we’ve been living in our motorhome 🚐, exploring the most beautiful corners of Spain, including a lovely detour to Gibraltar ⛰️
Almost every day, the sun 🌞 had already taken its place in the sky early in the morning before we had our first coffee ☕
It’s a great joy 🍀 to be able to change the route anytime and at short notice.
There are numerous advantages to our ‘motorhome life’. No alarm clock ⏰ tearing us out of sleep 🥱, but instead the gentle or rough sound of the sea 🌊🌊 or the gentle whining of our doodle girl 🐩
Waking up every morning knowing that the day is full of possibilities. Moreover, we greatly enjoy running barefoot 🦶🦶 on the warm beach 🏝️ with Smilla 🐩 and savoring our freedom.
Life is beautiful❣️❣️❣️
But there are also small challenges:
➡️ The limited space requires careful organization, and you must be willing to compromise on personal belongings and amenities.
➡️ Constantly being on the move means we had to repeatedly find suitable campsites 🏕️, which wasn’t always easy or successful.
➡️ Sometimes it can also be a challenge to find a suitable gas station. The length of our vehicle combination 🚐➕🚙 = 14 meters got in the way 🙈
➡️ Even in Spain, it can rain 🌦️☔ Bad weather ⛈️🍃 can make everyday life in the camper 🚐 difficult, especially if it rains for several days in a row 🌧️🙈🌧️
Now the next stage of our journey awaits:
Portugal, the beautiful Algarve 🏖️🏝️🌊☀️

Back in Spain since January 3rd, 2025
and our first recap
Life as a camper ⛺🚙 in Spain feels like an endless road trip full of freedom and adventure. Imagine waking up in the morning with the sound of Mediterranean waves 🌊🌊🌊 as the first thing you hear. Your day starts without knowing what day it is 🤷♀ with a cup of coffee ☕ under the bright blue sky 🌅🏖️.
The simplicity of life on wheels allows us to gather a multitude of authentic experiences. Sometimes, we talk about “minimalism,” but a moment later, we realize how precious and fulfilling our time together is. We are enjoying the free, beautiful, and slightly wild life to the fullest 🚆 and cannot imagine any other life at the moment 👩🏼🤝👨🏻🐩

Goodbye Braunschweig, hello sunshine!
After having moved very frequently, our next home will be a fully packed motorhome, with which we will first zip through Southern Europe from October to December 2024.
WE are Claudia and Jens with our doodle girl Smilla 🐩
With our camper, a car in tow, and a big portion of travel and adventure spirit, we will head south at a maximum speed of 80 km/h. This blog was born from the idea of writing a travel diary.
