Santiago de Compostela ⛪ 👩‍🦯 🎒 👨‍🦯

In the ❤️ of Galicia, the Cathedral ⛪ of Santiago de Compostela stands proudly. Not only is it a masterpiece – as the Spaniards call it – but it is also the spiritual 🧘‍♀ 🧘‍♂ center for pilgrims 👩‍🦯 👨‍🦯 👩‍🦯 🎒 walking the Camino de Santiago. A true symbol of arrival and new beginnings.

Precisely at 12 noon, the pilgrim mass begins, honoring those who have completed the Camino and serving as an important religious closing celebration 🎉

My personal highlight was the famous Botafumeiro 🏆, a massive censer 🏆 swung during the service. It takes 8 🚹 men to set this approximately 70-kilogram silver-plated vessel in motion, swinging through the cathedral’s transept at nearly 65 km/h.

A visit is said to be like encountering the faithful soul of Europe 💫 🙏 – or so they say!

We visited this sacred place 😇 what feels like an eternity ago.
